October 2 was Energy Efficiency Day! This is a national collaborative effort of dozens of energy efficiency advocacy groups to help people cut carbon, save money, and breathe easier. The Center for EcoTechnology collaborated with Columbia Gas, Advanced Energy Group, and Eversource to perform 25 energy audits for small businesses in Springfield, MA. We were so excited to be involved in this campaign and make such a strong impact on our community!

We would like to thank all of the businesses who participated in our energy audits on Energy Efficiency Day. Participating in an energy audit is a great first step to making your business more energy efficient. At the Center for EcoTechnology, we hope to sustain the momentum from Energy Efficiency Day and continue to help businesses become more energy efficient.

He went on to say that Energy Efficiency Day was not only a great opportunity for businesses and residents to save money, but it’s also helping the environment. The Mayor mentioned that Springfield is saving about $3.5 million a year on energy costs, which can be reinvested to create better neighborhoods, build libraries, and support community centers.
