Materials Needed:

  • Olive Oil
  • Corn Starch
  • Baking Soda
  • Coconut Oil
  • Essential Oils
  • Peppermint Extract
  • Coconut Milk
  • Castile Soap
  • Glass Jars
  • Materials to Decorate (Optional)

Deodorant:

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup Baking Soda
  • ¼ cup Corn Starch
  • ¼ cup Coconut Oil
  • 10-15 drops of Essential Oils

Steps:

  1. Melt ¼ cup of coconut oil in the microwave for about 30 seconds or until it is fully melted. Be careful, this will be very hot!
  2. Measure out ¼ cup of baking soda and ¼ cup of corn starch. Run them through a strainer to get rid of any clumps.
  3. Mix all of the ingredients together in a small bowl until they are well mixed.
  4. Optionally, adding more baking soda to your deodorant will make it firmer. Adding more coconut oil will make it more liquid. Adjust the ingredients to your desired consistency. Remember that the deodorant will firm up in the refrigerator.
  5. Add 10-15 drops of any essential oil of your choice to add a scent.
  6. Transfer the deodorant into a glass jar for storage. Store the deodorant in your refrigerator to firm up.

Shampoo

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup Coconut Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Olive Oil
  • ¼ cup Castile Soap
  • 10-15 drops of Essential Oils


 

Steps:

  1. In a glass jar, combine ¼ cup coconut milk, ¼ cup castile soap, and 1 teaspoon of olive oil.
  2. Mix the ingredients together until well combined.
  3. Add 10-15 drops of essential oil of your choice to add a scent.
  4. Store the mixture in the fridge. It will firm up and form a mousse like substance! This shampoo is rich and nourishing and is great for anyone with dry hair.

 

Toothpaste

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup Coconut Oil
  • ¼ cup Baking Soda
  • 3-4 drops of Peppermint Extract

Steps:

  1. Melt ¼ cup of coconut oil in the microwave for about 30 second or until it is fully melted. Be careful, this will be very hot!
  2. In a small bowl, combine the coconut oil with ¼ cup of baking soda and mix together well.
  3. Add more dry ingredients or more wet ingredients until the product reaches your desired consistency.
  4. Add a few drops of peppermint extract to add flavor to your toothpaste. Be careful, Peppermint extract is very potent!
  5. Transfer the mixture into a glass jar and store on or near your bathroom sink.
